Liam and Noel Gallagher confirm Oasis reunion for 2025

Aldi’s social media team are known for their hilarious sarcastic quips online about their products — but this weekend they couldn’t resist getting involved with the one thing on everyone’s lips.

Oasis fans were flung into ticket chaos sat 8am yesterday morning (August 31) after the general sale for their epic 2025 reunion tour kicked off. Liam and Noel Gallagher announced the end of their long-standing feud earlier this week.

They will play 17 performances across the UK and Ireland, including shows at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, Manchester’s Heaton Park, London’s Wembley Stadium, Murrayfield in Edinburgh or Dublin’s Croke Park. But many fans were waiting in the queue for hours with no luck so far, according the Mirror’s live updates.

The supermarket gained more than 546,000 views when they compared this weekend’s events to their battle with M&S over their caterpillar cakes. The tweet said: “Congratulations @TicketmasterUK – nobody’s caused this much chaos on social media since Cuthbert got jailed.”

X users were left in stitches over the post as they replied with jokes of their own. One user said: “Ribbed by Aldi, well done,” while another added: “Still in queue only 115,000 in front on me.” A third commented: “You should sell concert tickets in your middle aisle… at least we know we wouldn’t get scammed.”

@AldiUK/TikTok) M&S’s iconic Colin the Caterpillar cake was previously the subject of a viral feud between M&S and Aldi after the budget-friendly supermarket created Cuthbert, a £4.99 caterpillar cake. In 2021, M&S took legal action against the retailer, claiming the cheaper cake infringed on their trademark but they reached a “confidential agreement” out of court.

The row became a viral meme on social media as shoppers picked sides. But the current comparison appears to be in reference to the thousands of fans were left gutted after they were hit by technical errors when loading the likes of Ticketmaster, See Tickets and Gigs and Tours as they attempted to get their hands on tickets. The tour has officially sold out, with fans branding the ticket surcharge prices a “rip-off”.

Ticketmaster has been contacted for a comment regarding Aldi’s tweet.
